The Zimbabwe Anaesthetic Association is a non-profit member association that has been in existence since 1958, originally as the Association of Anaethetists of Rhodesia. The Association is devoted to promoting the development, study and practice of Anaesthesia and Critical Care Medicine in Zimbabwe. The aim is to maintain a high standard of professional ethics, conduct and practice of anaesthesia in the country for the benefit of the nation. The Association crest depicts a sleeping lion anaesthetised with the speed and efficiency of a hammer and yet the delicate touch control of a feather. This elucidates the gentleness of the anaesthetist with the strength and ability to handle even the toughest of scenarios.
